Master Thesis at nanoGUNE

The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center nanoGUNE, located at the Ibaeta Campus of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Donostia – San Sebastián, offers Master-Thesis Projects for Master students in related areas (nanotechnology, materials science, physics, chemistry, biology, etc.).

Eligible candidates for the Master Thesis Projects must be registered master students at the UPV/EHU or at other European Universities. NanoGUNE offers Master students the possibility to develop their Master Thesis within one of the following topics:

• Nanomagnetism:
  • Spectroscopic Magneto-Optical Ellipsometry
  • Fabrication of epitaxial magnetic films and multilayers with perpendicular anisotropy
  • Magneto-optical activity in spatially confined geometries
  • Magnetic nanostructures for biomedical applications

• Self-Assembly:
  • Nanofibers
  • Liquids on the nanoscale

• Naniobiomechanics
  • Paleoenzymology
  • Molecular nanobiomechanics

• Nanodevices
  • Creation and study of new 2D materials beyond graphene

• Theory:
  • Theory of new nanosize phases
  • Theory of organic spintronics

• Nanomaterials:
  • Bioinorganic hybrid materials

• Nanoimaging:
  • Atomic scale magnetism on the surface structure of diamond
  • Light emission from surfaces and molecules at the nanoscale
