The Nanomaterials group is led by Dr. Mato Knez (m.knez@nanogune.eu). The activity of the Nanomaterials group is focused on the Synthesis and Functionalization of Materials. The present research programme for the Nanomaterials group has been divided into three main themes of research:

1. Thin-film coatings for functionalization of materials for corrosion protection, flexible electronics, sensing, or energy applications using Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) Techniques.

2. Hybrid inorganic-organic materials for applications as textiles, automotive industry, or aeronautics.

3. Bio-inorganic nanomaterials for particular applications in nanomedicine related to molecular biomimetics, drug delivery, and screening.
