since 02/2008: Ikerbasque Research Professor (Basque Foundation for Science)
since 02/2008: Group Leader (Nanooptics) at CIC nanoGUNE Consolider, Donostia – San Sebastian, Spain.
since 05/2007: Co-Founder of Neaspec GmbH, Martinsried and member of the Board of Directors. The company develops and manufactures scanning near-field optical microscopes.
05/2009: Visiting Professor at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), Castelldefels (Barcelona), Spain
10-12/2005 10-12/2006: Visiting professor in the group of Prof. L. Novotny, The Institute of Optics, Rochester, NY, USA.
02/2003 – 01/2008: Head of the Independent Junior Research Group "Nano-Photonics" at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry.
