CIC03_Master_Nanoforces and femtocurrents

Alexander Bittner's group focuses on self-assembly of biomolecules and functional materials, and looks for a Master candidate. Our new group member should be self-motivated, a team player, and willing to learn new experimental techniques from biochemistry to nanoscale physics.

We are searching for a physicist, chemist or biologist, who is interested in measuring small forces and very low currents with scanning probe microscopy. We will develop a hybrid between scanning tunnelling and atomic force microscopy, which helps us to discover nanoscale water structures. This will enables us to determine highly localised wetting phenomena on surfaces and on biomolecules.
