Workshop on Hybrid Materials by ALD/MLD & Iberian ALD

From to

Research on hybrid materials is an emerging field with great promise for a broad variety of applications. In spite of still being a niche within the field of materials research, an increasing number of technological breakthroughs were already enabled by a successful hybridization of organic and inorganic materials. Among the plethora of strategies for fabricating hybrid materials, atomic layer deposition (ALD) or molecular layer deposition (MLD) gain interest not at least for their compatibility with technological processes that are currently already applied in various industries.

The workshop on hybrid materials by ALD or MLD aims at bringing together researchers and industry that are already active or intend to launch activities in this research field. It will serve as a presentation and discussion platform, hopefully sparking new collaborations and business opportunities. In addition to the main scope of the workshop, we will dedicate a session to ALD or MLD activities on the Iberian Peninsula.

We welcome research groups and industries from the region to join the workshop and exchange experiences or discuss collaboration opportunities on ALD or MLD also without the limitation to hybrid materials.

Topics of interest for the workshop may include:

  • Hybrid organic-inorganic thin films by ALD/MLD
  • Functionalization of inorganic substrates with organic coatings
  • Functionalization of polymeric or biological substrates with inorganic coatings
  • Infiltrations
  • Materials with hybrid functionalities
  • Instrumentation enabling hybrid coatings
  • Precursor chemistry for hybrid materials
  • Modeling of ALD/MLD processes or materials
  • ALD/MLD on the Iberian Peninsula (dedicated session)
