This seminar offers a practical look at quantum computing from the viewpoint of someone building the hardware. It introduces the basic ideas behind qubits and why classical simulation struggles as systems grow, then uses that as a starting point to examine how real devices are formed and operated in silicon. The aim is to give a sense of what are the steps to build a quantum computer from the ground up. Recent work from our group will serve as examples of what can be done now and what still needs to improve if we want more reliable and scalable quantum computers.
