In a recent review article published in Reviews of Modern Physics, Fèlix Casanova from the Nanodevices group at CIC nanoGUNE, Prof. Albert Fert, Nobel Prize in Physics, and his colleagues review the state of the art of electrical control of magnetism and give scientific and technological future persperctives.
The building block for magnetoelectric spin-orbit logic
In a recent article published in Nature Communications an international team, led by researchers from the Nanodevices group at CIC nanoGUNE, suceeded in voltage-based magnetization switching and reading of magnetoelectric spin-orbit nanodevices. This study constitutes aproof of principle of these nanodevices, which are the building blocks for magnetoelectric spin-orbit (MESO) logic, opening a new avenue for low-power beyond-CMOS technologies.
Nanomaterialen garapena ondare kulturala zaintzeko
Aranzazu Sierra Fernández Materialen Zientzia eta Ingeniaritzako doktoreak “la Caixa” Fundazioaren doktoretza osteko Junior Leader beka lortu du, CIC nanoGUNEko Nanomaterialak taldean ondare kulturala zaintzeko metodologia berriak aztertzeko ikerketaren esparruan aurrera egiteko. Proiektuaren helburua da ondasun kulturalak kontserbatzeko estaldura babesleak garatzea, eta bereziki landuko dira erresistentzia, zailtasuna, iraunkortasuna eta eraikuntza-materialekiko bateragarritasuna.
nanoGUNEn instalatutako nanofabrikazio-tresna batek mikroskopia elektronikoaren euskal azpiegitura indartuko du
CIC nanoGUNEk jardunaldi bat egin du gaur tresna berri bat ezagutzera emateko: CRYO Plasma FIB. Europan eta munduan dauden bakarretako bat da, eta berriki instalatu da zentroan. Tresna aurkezteaz gain, mikroskopia elektronikoaren euskal azpiegitura indartzeko akordioa aurkeztu du. BioGUNEk, biomaGUNEk, energiGUNEk eta nanoGUNEk sinatu dute hitzarmena —BRTA aliantzako ikerketa kooperatiboko zentroek—, ikerketa-taldeei eta industria-bezeroei mikroskopia elektronikoko soluzio integralak eskaintzeko.
CIC nanoGUNE obtains three Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship projects
The Cooperative Research Center nanoGUNE has achieved three Marie-Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship projects in the 2023 call, obtaining 624.071,52€ in total. The objective of this European programme is to support the education and the professional development of postdoctoral researchers by offering them a contract for 12 to 36 months including personnel recruitment and research expenses. This is an initiative of the European Commission inside the Horizon Europe program, and it funds researchers of any nationality with a maximum of eight years of research experience.
