Beatriz Martín García receives one of the 2025 Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship runner-up awards
Beatriz Martín García, Ikerbasque Research Fellow & Ramón y Cajal Fellow at CIC nanoGUNE, has been selected as one of the runners-up of the Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship 2025. This award recognizes her remarkable contributions to materials chemistry and the scientific community, as well as her leadership. At nanoGUNE, she leads a research line aimed at elucidating the interplay between the crystal structure, composition, and optical, electrical, and magnetic properties of low-dimensional materials to facilitate their integration into devices. To this end, she focuses on chemical design and uses dedicated spectroscopic techniques, particularly micro-Raman spectroscopy.
The Journal of Materials Chemistry, a prestigious publication of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), established in 2016 an annual lectureship together with two runners-up awards, which intend to recognize the achievements of early-career scientists and acknowledges their significant contributions to the field of materials chemistry.
Upon receiving the runner-up award, she expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who supported her on her scientific journey, including her colleagues, supervisors, and family. She also extended her thanks to the research centers that have accepted her throughout her career and, together with the funding she has received, have made her research work feasible. She emphasized how meaningful it is to have her work recognized by such a prestigious journal. She noted that this achievement reflects not only her efforts but also the dedication and creativity of her colleagues, students, and highly valued network of collaborators who have made each project and scientific achievement possible.
Congratulations to Beatriz Martín García!
