Functional Biomolecule-Nanomaterial Hybrids for Advanced Optical Applications

In my seminar on “Functional Biomolecule-Nanomaterial Hybrids for Advanced Optical Applications” I am aiming to give a broad overview of the work on optical nanomaterials that I did until now in the Biomolecular Nanotechnology lab at CIC biomaGUNE. A special focus will be on the post-synthesis bio-functionalization of optical nanomaterials, such as plasmonic nanoparticles and quantum dots, highlighting our contributions to the European DeDNAed and GREENER projects. Furthermore, I will present my work on the ChiroSense project for the development of a new chiroptical biosensor based on a dimer of gold and silicon nanoparticles.
