Low-temperature AFM and confocal microscope

Our lab hosts a versatile Scanning Probe setup from Attocube Gmbh (AttoLiquid2000) equipped for Confocal Microscopy, Atomic and Magnetic Force Microscopy and customized for Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy. Measurements can be performed at variable temperatures, from 2K to room temperature and under applied vector magnetic field (5T perpendicular, 1T in any direction). This system offers the possibility of scanning large areas (up to 50x50um^2) a high flexibility in positioning and electric contacts for simultaneous transport measurements, making it ideal for the study of local properties of microscopic devices or mesoscopic systems, where subnanometric resolution is not required (for more details visit our ongoing projects site). It is also the perfect test bench for development of novel scanning probe ideas.
