The nanoGUNE Workshop 2022, organized by the predoctoral researchers, to celebrate the 13th anniversary of nanoGUNE, has been held online on January 31 2022.

The topic selected for the seminar session this year is Ethics in Science. We will have six talks, that will cover different aspects of this topics, from the ethical responsibilities of researchers in biological investigation to the good scientific conduct to social and political implications of scientific progress.

This online event will be open to the general public and the talks are now available on nanoGUNE's youtube channel:

  • Leire Escajedo, is Full Professor at the Department of Public Law and Historical Legal Sciences (University of the Basque Country), currently coordinator of the Law and Ethics in Biosciences Teaching Unit (Faculty of Sciences and Technology). Bachelor and Doctor of Laws, Doctor in Biological Sciences, with undergraduate and posgraduate studies in Psychology. She enjoys collaborative and transdisciplinary research experiences. Her research is mainly focused on the governance of scientific and technological advances in the areas of Biomedicine, Bioeconomy and Data Economy.
  • Pedro Miguel Echenique, is the President of the Donostia International Physics Center Foundation (DIPC) and Professor of Physics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He is also former Culture and Education Minister and Spokesman of the Basque Government. His figure is essential in the development of a scientist atmosphere in Donostia, as the founder of Donostia International Physics Center, the Materials Physics Center, and CIC nanoGUNE.
