End of Sara's summer internship

 

 

 

 

 

 

The simple idea: Amplify the current from an AFM tip in a single stage, with a very high feedback resistor, and a low-current amplifier. This requires shielding, and quite good grounding to suppress the 50 Hz hum, but most of all nicely conductive AFM tips.
