Laboratory Technician

to join the

Nanomagnetism Research Group

 

CIC nanoGUNE is a research center dedicated to conducting world-class nanoscience research for a competitive growth of the Basque Country. nanoGUNE is a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and is recognized by the Spanish Research Agency as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence.

The fulltime position is offered under the supervision of Profs. Paolo Vavassori (p.vavassori@nanogune.eu) and Andreas Berger (a.berger@nanogune.eu), joint co-leaders of the Nanomagnetism Research Group, which is conducting world-class research in the field of nanoscale magnetism.

Key responsibilities

- Organization of the Laboratories of the Nanomagnetism Group

- Maintenance of equipment and instrumentation

- Training and support of new group members

- Procurement of consumables and tools

- Performing group service measurements

- Training and supervision of selected general equipment and facilities

 

Candidate profile

The successful candidate should have a Vocational Training / Formación Profesional (FP) qualification or a bachelor's degree in physics or a related engineering field. Fluency in English is required, and fluency in Spanish and/or Basque will be positively valued. Recent FP and university graduates will be considered as well.

The following traits will be valued:

- Independent working style and self-motivation

- Being a team player

Additionally, the following experience would be positively considered:

- Hands-on experience with experimental setups and research equipment

- Handling of gases, cryogenics, and vacuum systems
