Sofia Ferreira Teixeira

Dr. Sofia Ferreira-Teixeira is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at CIC nanoGUNE in Donostia–San Sebastian, Spain, specialised in spintronics and layered magnetic materials.
She obtained her PhD in Physics from the University of Porto (Portugal), where she investigated nanostructures of topological insulators for spintronic applications, in collaboration with Imperial College London (United Kingdom). Her research expertise includes clean room nanofabrication and structural, electronic, and magnetic characterisation techniques, as well as numerical simulations. In addition to her scientific work, Dr Ferreira-Teixeira is committed to community engagement and equality in science. She currently serves as the Young Officer of the European Magnetism Association, the Coordinator for Portuguese in Spain within the Native Scientists' Same Migrant Community programme, an American Physical Society Career Mentoring Fellow, and the Chair of the Gender Equality Committee at nanoGUNE.
