Graphene nanoflakes are small two-dimensional, carbon-based molecules. Special shapes lead to unique spin-structures, resulting in magnetic moments present on the edges of the molecule. Such, it is possible to tailor a wide variety of spin-structures to one’s desire. This particular shape is analyzed in detail in J. Li, et al. Physical Review Letters 124, 177201 (2020).

The present work emphasizes that a large amount of the modern-day imaging techniques does not involve any optical light. Such, any choice of colours is arbitrary and needs to be evaluated as critically as any other part of a scientific publication. It is possible to both hide and create structures perceivable to the eye by a selective choice of the colour-scale.
