Fernando Gonzalez-Zalba, Ikerbasque Research Professor at CIC nanoGUNE and Principal Engineer at Quantum Motion, has been awarded a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant. The grant will fund project QuDos, an innovative research initiative focused on using semiconductor quantum dots as the basis for building ultra-low-power microwave qubit control and readout electronics for quantum computers.

The round table brought together internationally renowned experts such as Christopher Berzins (Embassy of Canada in Spain), Asier Areitio Ibarluzea (Basque Government), Román Orús Lacort (DIPC and Multiverse Computing S.L.), Toshiyasu Ichioka (RIKEN), and Miren Ainhoa Aizpuru Murua (BIC Gipuzkoa). The session was moderated by Juan Antonio Zufiria Zatarain (Bankinter Foundation for Innovation and Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering). 

The session focused on quantum technologies and featured an inspiring dialogue between Ignacio Martín (board member at Repsol and Acerinox) and Juan Zufiría (board member at Bankinter and former IBM Executive Vice President), who shared their vision on leadership and innovation.

The event concluded with a visit to the System Two quantum computer at Ikerbasque building, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of computing.
